Working in a veterinary clinic throughout the entirety of COVID-19 and years prior, I found many families bought puppies or adopted dogs and many of them had or had developed severe behavioural issues- as well as my own personal dog. Separation anxiety, aggression, confusion, territorial behaviour, you name it, they had it.. Those types of dogs in a clinic? A nightmare.
Unfortunately, due to these issues, I also witnessed an extreme increase of euthanasia in these dogs because of said behavioural issues. Puppies aged 6 months (sometimes younger) to dogs that had been a beloved family pet for over 8 years. It was heartbreaking and something needed to change.
I am now very adamant on creating a safe and calm environment for my dogs at all times, as well as all dogs that I come across in my life. My training is mainly about teaching the owner how to manage behaviours comfortably rather than teaching your dog and letting you figure out the rest. I am with you every step of the way.
My passion to help other people and their animals pushed me to create this business. My passion for dogs, specifically canine behaviour, stemmed from my love of giving rescue dogs and aggressive dogs a larger chance at securing a loving and balanced home— setting them and their owner(s) up for a chance at a new life.
I have 10+ years of professional canine experience plus general pet experience from working in countless settings such as veterinary clinics, equine hospitals, kennel environments, training facilities, equine and bovine farms, as well as humane societies.
I have also worked and trained alongside many professional canine psychologists as well as graduated with honours from Sheridan College with a DSC/DEC in Veterinary Assistant. Followed by an additional DSC/DEC in Veterinary Technology in 2022 with honours. In 2019, I also attained my Canine Foundations & Behaviour DSC/DEC from Animal Behaviour College approving me as a Canine Behaviourist in Canada as well as the United States.
The list never ends, I am always looking to expand my knowledge.
Our board and train programs are the most popular choice for clients. We take 3-4 dogs at a time to ensure we have more 1-on-1 time and our focus is solely on your dog. We teach your dog skills for the real world. We teach them how to “dog” at home and outside of the home!
We teach puppies and adult dogs of all breeds, in a very positive manner to sit, lay down, give paw, stand for exam, sit-stay, down-stay, heel, come, touch, hand to nose contact, watch me, attention to command, leave it, and much more!
